Save the date: 4th International Meeting Synergies for Social Transformation | 1 – 3 July 2026

Between 1 and 3 July 2026, the 4th International Meeting Synergies for Social Transformation will take place, dedicated to the theme:

“Resisting and converging in the construction of critical and engaged citizenships”

In a global context marked by growing inequalities, the intensification of systemic violence, and the shrinking of civic and democratic spaces, this meeting is conceived as a time for resistance, reflection and collective action, bringing together different perspectives.

The meeting aims to bring together people who, through education, research and civic action, seek to create opportunities for building, learning and defending critical and socially engaged forms of citizenship committed to social justice.

These days are envisioned as a living space for listening, dialogue, inspiration and collective construction. The programme will be developed through a participatory approach, including a call for practices that seeks to challenge conventional formats, encourage new forms of sharing, and foster convergence between individuals and organisations with a view to future action.

Contributions are welcome from academics, civil society organisations, educators, students, activists and all those committed to social transformation, in areas such as transformative education, eco-social transitions, alternative economies, gender equality, anti-racist struggles, poverty reduction, among others.

📍 Location
The meeting will take place in Lisbon, at the Institute of Economics and Management of the University of Lisbon (ISEG), as well as in other venues across the city.
